Transportation can be one of the biggest roadblocks for cancer patients to get to their treatments. That's why the American Cancer Society's Road To Recovery program provides free rides. In Gloucester County in 2018, they provided 18 patients with 155 rides but there are still unmet needs and patients that they are unable to serve. As we are an active community, focused on continuing to live life to the fullest, the American Cancer Society wants to collaborate with Heatherwood in promoting the need for volunteer drivers. Sharing the program can also impact a patient by helping identify a driver that can take them to their treatments.
